China Southern Begins Non-Stop Guangzhou-New York Service

China Southern Airlines announced the launch of new, non-stop service between Guangzhou and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, with flights starting Wednesday.  The service is the first non-stop route between the two cities, and is China Southern’s first direct service to the East Coast of the United States.

The service operates four times a week, using Boeing 777-300ER, equipped with four lie-flat seats in first class, 32 lie-flat seats in business class, 44 seats in premium economy, and 227 in economy.  Seats in first class have a pitch of 82″, and a width of 33″.

Along with the Guangzhou-New York flights, China Southern also offers non-stop flights to Los Angeles International Airpot.  Additionally, the airline began new thrice-weekly service between Wuhan, China and Moscow, Russia last week, its second service to the Russian capital.

Guangzhou is the capital of the Guangdong Province in Southeast China.  It is the third largest city in China, and is one of the country’s Five National Central cities.
