Boeing Delivers Xiamen Airlines’ First 787 Dreamliner
Xiamen Airlines announced that it took delivery of its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The carrier is the third Chinese airline to operate the aircraft.
Xiamen plans to use its 787-8 on long-haul routes between China and Europe, North America, and Australia. The airline currently has a five more 787s on order.
The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner is a member of the Boeing 787 family, which also includes the 787-9 and the 787-10. The 787-8 has a range of 7,650 to 8,200 nautical miles (14,170 to 15,190 km), and can seat up to 210 passengers.
Xiamen Airlines was founded in 1984, and is China’s only carrier with an all-Boeing fleet. The airline plans to increase its fleet size to 150 aircraft by 2015.
