Air China to Begin Codeshare with China Express
Air China announced that it signed a codeshare agreement with China Express Airlines. Under the agreement, the carriers will codeshare on select routes of the other beginning September 1.
Air China will be allowed to place its code on 32 China Express-operated routes, while China Express will be able to place its code on 30 of Air China’s routes.
The agreement will allow Air China to access smaller cities around Chongqing and throughout the provinces of Guizhou and Liaoning. Meanwhile, China Express will expand its destinations to many larger and medium-sized cities around the country through the codeshare.
Air China currently serves over 160 destinations in over 30 countries worldwide. Earlier this year, the airline announced plans to begin a joint venture with German carrier Lufthansa.
