Hertz announced the launch of its Certified Clean & Safe program on Wednesday.  The new program tells customers exactly what the rental location checks and cleans when preparing a vehicle for rental.

Certified Clean & Safe uses a 35-point checklist that includes such items as cleanliness of seats, door panels, mirrors, and windows, as well as a check for odors and safety-related items like exterior lights, windshield wipers, seat belts, tires, air conditioning, and heating.

Once the inspection is completed, a Hertz representative signs off on the section and leaves a card on the car’s steering column for the customer.

The program was piloted at three Hertz locations – San Diego, Washington (Dulles), and Cincinnati – and will eventually be rolled out to all Hertz locations worldwide.
