Virgin America Reports Drop in Traffic, Capacity for May

Virgin America announced operational results for May 2014.
Total traffic for May was 901 million revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year decrease of 0.6% from 907 million in May 2013.
Total capacity for the month was 1.067 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, a year-over-year decrease of 2.5% from 1.094 billion last year.
Meanwhile, the airline’s load factor for May increased by 1.6 percentage points, to 84.5% from 82.9% in the same period of 2013.
