United Airlines announced the opening of a new lounge at San Francisco International Airport Sunday.

The new United Club is located on the mezzanine level in Terminal 3’s Boarding Area E.  The lounge’s décor uses the new United Club design concept that has already been introduced in several airports including Chicago, London, and Seattle.

Featuring vintage black-and-white United Airlines-themed photographs on the walls, the spacious lounge offers bar and café areas, as well as a variety of seating that ranges from lounge chairs to Arne Jacobsen “Egg” chairs. Power outlets are located throughout the facility, which measures over 5,00 square feet (465 square meters).

The new United Club is intended to be temporary, and will be replaced by a larger lounge that is slated to open in Boarding Area E in 2015.  United also operates lounges in Boarding Area F in Terminal 3, as well as in the airport’s International Terminal.

United operates roughly 300 daily flights to 90 destinations from San Francisco including 31 non-stop flights to 21 international destinations, the latest being non-stop service to Chengdu, China.
