Starwood announced the opening of a new Le Méridien property in Tampa, Florida. The Le Méridien Tampa is located on North Florida Avenue on the site of a century-old federal courthouse, which underwent a $26 million renovation to become a Le Méridien property

The hotel has 130 guestrooms, an outdoor pool, a 24-hour fitness center, and a business center. The property also houses a French restaurant with al fresco dining options, a cocktail bar, and 4,000 square feet (372 square meters) of meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom that can accommodate up to 150 guests.

The Le Méridien Tampa features large-scale artwork in its public spaces, a 24-hour curated soundtrack, a master coffee barista, and the brand’s signature sensory experience, which emphasizes light, sound, and scent. Guests also have complimentary access to select museums and cultural centers in the surrounding area upon presentation of their key cards.

The hotel is located 12 minutes away from Tampa International Airport, and within walking distance of several attractions in downtown Tampa, including the Tampa Convention Center, the Tampa Museum of Art, and the shops and restaurants along Tampa Riverwalk.

Starwood currently operates nearly 100 Le Méridien hotels in more than 40 countries worldwide. The Le Méridien Tampa is the first Le Méridien brand property to open in Florida.
