Ritz-Carlton to Open New Resort on Malaysian Island

Ritz-Carlton announced it will open a new oceanfront hotel on the island of Langkawi, located in the Malaysia state of Kedah, in 2015. The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi will be the company’s second property to open in Malaysia.

The new hotel will have 132 guestrooms, including 42 private villas. The property will also have various dining establishment, including a fine dining venue serving French cuisine, and an international beach grill. Three swimming pools, a spa with a hammam, and three separate event venues will also be located on the premises.

The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi will be situated on its own private beach and cove overlooking the Andaman Sea in the southwest corner of the island. Guests will have access to various beaches, diving sites, and the Pulau Payar marine national park.

Ritz-Carlton currently operates 86 hotels and resorts in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean, and has 30 additional properties under development.
