LOT Polish Airlines announced it will begin offering Economy Plus service on its short- and medium-haul flights later this month. Premium Economy class passengers on long-haul flights will be seated in Economy Plus on connecting flights in Europe.

Passengers traveling in this new class of service will be seated in the front of the aircraft and will have a choice of meals, beverages, and alcoholic drinks.  LOT says that the new service and amenities are similar to those offered in business class.

Economy Plus passengers will also have access to their own check-in desk and priority baggage and boarding services.  A separate shuttle at Warsaw Chopin Airport will also be available to transport Economy Plus passengers in this class of service across the tarmac to their plane if the aircraft is not directly accessible from a gate.

In addition to the new class of service, LOT will also begin offering Economy Simple tariffs that provide a 30% discount on standard economy fares. Passengers who purchase an Economy Simple ticket will also receive a free beverage and snack onboard their flight.

Economy Simple passengers may choose to check luggage for an extra fee of 60 Polish zloty ($20), while passengers who purchase a standard economy fare ticket may still check luggage for free.

LOT Polish Airlines was founded in 1929, and currently serves nearly 60 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, North America, and Asia. The new economy options are part of the airline’s long-term restructuring plan to reduce costs and improve customer service for passengers.
