JetBlue Reports Traffic Up for May

JetBlue Airways announced operational results for May 2014.

The airline’s total traffic in May was 3.199 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 7% from 2.990 billion RPMs in May 2013.

Capacity for the month was 3.756 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, an increase of 7% from 3.512 billion last year.

Passenger load factor for May also increased, up 0.1 percentage points to 85.2% from 85.1% in the same period last year.

JetBlue’s passenger revenue per available seat mile, or Prasm, increased by 4% year-over-year. The airline said it expects Prasm to increase by 6% to 7% in the second quarter of this year.
