Hilton announced it will launch a new hotel brand called Curio – A Collection by Hilton. The company’s new brand will include a select group of four- and five-star properties, each with a unique identity that reflects the culture of its location.

The SLS Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, which will reopen this September following an extensive three-year renovation, will be the first establishment to become a Curio brand property. The hotel is located at the northern end of the Las Vegas Strip at the former site of the Sahara Hotel and Resort, and will have more than 1,620 guestrooms and suites, various dining and nightlife establishments, and 30,000 square feet (2,787 square meters) of meeting and event space.

The Sam Houston Hotel in Houston, Texas; Hotel Alex Johnson in Rapid City, South Dakota; and the Franklin Hotel in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, will follow suit, becoming Curio properties within the next two years.  In addition, a hotel in Portland, Oregon, slated to open in late 2016, will also debut as a Curio brand establishment.

With the addition of the new Curio brand, Hilton Worldwide will operate a total of 11 luxury brands. Stays completed at all new Curio properties will qualify for points in the Hilton HHonors guest loyalty program.
