The weekend is quickly approaching, and it’s time to kick back and relax with this week’s news and features. Here are five engaging stories that should entertain and inform you this weekend.
1.) Jonathan Spira gives us an up-close look at the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which United Airlines is currently flying on its recently launched San Francisco to Chengdu route. The high-tech plane is 20% more fuel efficient than others in its class, and features adjustable LED lighting, 30% larger windows, and a much quieter cabin.
2.) Paul Riegler reviews Delta Flight 5950 from Chicago to New York-LaGuardia, traveling in first class on an Embraer E170 plane. He reports that the airline’s superb customer service made up for the two-hour delay and lack of in-flight Internet access.

4.) Airports in the New York area, including John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia, and Newark Liberty, will soon be offering travelers limited free Wi-Fi Internet service, provided by Boingo. The first 30 minutes of service are provided at no charge, and additional time may be purchased as needed.
5.) China is ramping up its international service to the United States this year. Over the past month, four airlines have launched a total of five new flights connecting China with major U.S. destinations, and the world’s most populated nation may soon become the world’s most traveled nation.
