Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts announced it will open a new Shangri-La brand property in Tianjin, a city in northern China, on August 8. The Shangri-La Hotel, Tianjin, will be located in the city’s Hedong District behind the Haihe River.

The property will have 304 guestrooms and suites ranging from 517 square feet (48 square meters) to 2,583 square feet (240 square meters) in size, each with floor-to-ceiling windows. The hotel will also have 39 furnished studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments for guests with longer stays.

The property will also house a restaurant that will serve both local and international cuisine, as well as a 24-hour fitness center, indoor pool, tennis courts, and a spa. Also located on the premises will be meeting and event space in the form of eight separate function rooms and two ballrooms, which include the 21,054-square-foot (1,956-square-meter) Grand Ballroom and the 4,090-square-foot (380-square-meter) Junior Ballroom with an outdoor terrace.

The hotel will be located within the Tianjin Kerry Center and connected to a shopping mall, where guests will have access to various retail, dining, and entertainment venues. The property will be 30 minutes away from Tianjin Binhai International Airport and 10 minutes away from Tianjin Railway Station.

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts currently operates more than 80 Shangri-La brand hotels worldwide. The Shangri-La Hotel, Tianjin, will be the first Shangri-La property to open in the city of Tianjin.
