New Mandarin Oriental Hotel Opens in Taiwan
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group announced the opening of a new property in Taipei, Taiwan. The Mandarin Oriental, Taipei is located in the center of the city’s business district, five minutes from Songshan International Airport.
The property has 256 rooms and 47 suites, including the Mandarin Suite and the Presidential Suite. Each room has coffee machines and 46” LED TVs, as well as marble bathrooms with walk-in showers and separate bathtubs.
The Mandarin Suite has a separate living and dining room, a study, and powder room, while the Presidential Suite has its own fireplace, a private dining room with a kitchen, a whirlpool tub, and steam shower. Both suites also have their own private gyms, 22” LED TVs in the bathrooms, and 24-hour butler service. In addition, guests staying in the suites have access to the hotel’s Oriental Club.
The hotel also houses six dining venues, including Bencotto, an Italian-themed restaurant, Ya Ge, an establishment featuring traditional Cantonese cuisine, and Coco, a French brasserie open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Mandarin Cake Shop specializes in cakes, breads, and pastries, while the M.O. Bar serves signature cocktails, and the Jade Lounge offers afternoon tea service with a selection of Chinese and European teas.
The Mandarin Oriental, Taipei also has a two-story spa, which features six treatment rooms, crystal steam showers, a sauna, and ice fountain. The hotel also has a fitness center and temperature-controlled outdoor pool.
For meeting and event space, the hotel has the 10,333-square-foot (960-square-meter) Grand Ballroom, capable of seating up to 936 guests, as well as the 5,381-square-foot (500-square-meter) Mandarin Ballroom, with enough space for 420 guests. A grand salon, five separate meeting rooms, and a fully equipped business center are also located on the premises.
