Munich Airport Reports Highest Ever First Quarter Traffic

Munich Airport announced performance results for the first quarter of 2014. Passenger traffic for the first quarter was approximately 8.45 million passengers, a year-over-year increase of 0.2% from 8.43 million in the first quarter of 2013.

The airport said that this figure was the highest first quarter traffic recorded to date.

Aircraft movements for Q1 also increased by 0.4% year-over-year, up to 88,070 takeoffs and landings from 87,741 in the same period last year.

Munich Airport also reported a 4.7% increase in cargo tonnage, with 68,900 metric tons of cargo passing through the airport in the first quarter, up from 65,829 metric tons last year.
