Japan Airlines announced it expanded its existing codeshare agreements with Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines, and Jetstar Airways, an Australian carrier owned by Qantas Airways.  The expansion will, starting this month, allow Japan Airlines to place its code on various flights operated by the three carriers.

Under the agreement, Japan Airlines will codeshare on Cathay Pacific’s daily service between Hong Kong and Perth, Australia, beginning May 8.  Flights from Hong Kong depart at 2:50 p.m. and arrive in Perth at 10:35 p.m., while flights from Perth to Hong Kong depart at 11:55 p.m. and arrive at 7:45 a.m. the next day.

Japan Airlines will also be allowed to place its code on flights operated by Malaysia Airlines between Kuala Lumpur and both Perth and Darwin, Australia, also beginning May 8.  Flights between Kuala Lumpur and Perth operate five times a week, while flights to Darwin operate four times a week.

Beginning May 22, the airline will also be able to place its code on Jetstar Airways-operated flights between Tokyo Narita and Melbourne, Australia.  The service operates four times a week, and tickets for the codeshare flights will be available for purchase starting May 13.

Earlier this year, Japan Airlines also expanded its codeshare agreement with Qantas, to include flights operated by the Australian carrier between Sydney and Auckland, New Zealand.
