Alaska Airlines announced that it plans to begin new seasonal, non-stop service between Portland, Oregon and both Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico this fall.  The airline submitted an application to the United States and Mexican governments, and is still awaiting government approval from both countries.

The planned Portland-Los Cabos service would operate between November 3 and April 27, while flights between Portland and Puerto Vallarta would operate from November 4 through April 26. If approved, each service will operate using Boeing 737 aircraft.

In addition to the two flights from Portland, Alaska Airlines is also awaiting approval to launch new service between Seattle and Cancun.  The new service would begin November 6.

Alaska Airlines currently operates flights between several West Coast hubs and various destinations in Mexico, including Ixtapa, Loreto, Manzanillo, Mazatlan, Guadalajara, and Mexico City.
