Boeing announced that it delivered the first of 15 new 777-300ER planes to Air Lease Corporation, which ordered the aircraft in 2012 and 2013. Air Lease Corporation plans to lease this plane, as well as a second one scheduled to be delivered in July, to British Airways.

The twin-engine 777-300ER is a member of Boeing’s 777 family, which also includes the 777-200, the 777-200ER, the 777-300, the 777-200LR Worldliner, and the 777 Freighter. The aircraft has a range of 7,825 nautical miles (14,490 kilometers), and is equipped with GE90-115B engines, the world’s most powerful commercial jet engine.

To date, Air Lease Corporation has ordered a total of 94 Boeing 777 aircraft, including 43 777-300ERs. The company is Boeing’s second largest customer worldwide.

Air Lease Corporation is an aircraft leasing company founded in 2010 and headquartered in Los Angeles, California. It currently owns a fleet of 200 Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, and ATR planes, and leases aircraft to carriers on six continents.
