Starwood announced today that it will soon launch its Starwood Preferred Guest application for Google Glass, a wearable eyeglass technology that was made available to the public earlier this week.

The SPG application will provide several functions designed to make the hotel search and reservation process easier for travelers. Guests may perform a voice search of all of Starwood’s 1,175 hotels and resorts by destination, airport code, or proximity to their current location, and to book rooms at the establishment of their choice.

Other SPG functions allow guests to receive turn-by-turn directions to any Starwood property, browse and share photos of hotels, and log into their Starwood accounts in order to view details of upcoming stays and check their Starpoint balance.

In addition to Google Glass, the app is also available in versions for use with Apple iPhone and iPad, as well as Android mobile devices. They will be available for download from the Google Glass store in the near future.
