Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts announced the opening of a new property in Lhasa, Tibet. The Shangri-La Hotel, Lhasa is the first Shangri-La property to open in Tibet.

The new property has 262 guestrooms and 17 suites. The hotel also houses three dining facilities serving Tibetan and international cuisine, a snack and beverage lounge, an indoor pool, a gym, and spa.

The hotel offers complimentary Wi-Fi Internet service throughout the entire property.  Additionally, the Shangri-La Hotel, Lhasa has various meeting and event spaces, including a grand ballroom and event terrace.

The new hotel is located within walking distance of many historical Buddhist landmarks, including the Norbulingka Palace and the Potala Palace, both Unesco World Heritage Sites.

To celebrate the opening, the Shangri-La Hotel, Lhasa is offering a special promotion valid through June 30 of this year, which allows guests to stay at the hotel at a discounted price and includes free buffet breakfast and dinner for two. Guests must book their stays in advance to qualify for the promotion.
