Hyatt Regency Chongming Opens in Shanghai
Hyatt announced the opening of a new Hyatt Regency property on Chongming Island in Shanghai, China. The Hyatt Regency Chongming is situated next to the Dongtan Wetlands Park and a migratory bird reserve on the island, which is located along the mouth and northern shore of the Yangtze River.
The property consists of five buildings connected by a covered Chinese-style walkway, and contains gardens, streams, and arched bridges. Each of the hotel’s 235 guestrooms and suites offers complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access, 42” flat screen TVs, and private balconies or courtyards.
The Hyatt Regency Chongming also hosts five dining establishments, including Pin Yue, which serves Chongming and Shanghai cuisine; Market Café, an all-day restaurant offering a Chinese buffet as well as Western cuisine; and Bistro, an Italian restaurant that specializes in house-baked pizzas. Guests can also sample fine teas and Chinese snacks in the Tea House, or order coffee, wine, appetizers, and desserts at the hotel’s Lobby Lounge.
The property also provides over 15,000 square feet (1,440 square meters) of meeting and event space, including a lecture hall, three classrooms, a dining area, and six song and game rooms. In addition, the hotel houses a 6,700-square-foot (630-square-meter) ballroom.
An indoor pool and fitness center are located on the premises, with indoor and outdoor play areas for children. Additionally, the hotel offers a fleet of mountain, tandem, and kids bicycles for guests’ use in exploring the various attractions of Chongming Island, such as temples, wetlands, and rural villages.
