Aeromexico announced operating results for February 2014.  The Mexico City-based airline said that its total traffic for the month increased by 22.4% year-over-year, while its total capacity increased by 12.4%.

On the domestic side of operations, the airline saw 757 million revenue passenger kilometers, or RPKs, in system traffic, up from February of 2013’s 646 million RPKs, a 17.3% increase.  In international markets, Aeromexico experienced a 25.6% increase in system traffic, up to 1.283 billion from last year’s 1.021 billion.

The airline’s capacity, measured in available seat kilometers or ASKs, increased by 7.2% domestically, up to 1.003 billion from last year’s 936 million.  Internationally, the carrier reported 1.630 billion ASKs, an increase of 15.9% from last year’s 1.406 billion.

Meanwhile, the airline reported an increase in load factor as well, with domestic numbers up 6.5 percentage points to 75.5%.  The airline’s international load factor also increased, up 6.0 percentage points from last year’s 72.8%, for this year’s number of 78.9%.  Overall, the airline saw a total increase of 6.3 percentage points year-over-year, up to 77.6% from last year’s 71.3%.
