Photo Essay: Views from the Plane

One of my favorite experiences when flying is taking in the view.  The world looks different from above the clouds and I try to capture as much of it as I can from the moment we push back to the moment we land.

It’s easy to get good pictures, especially if the light is cooperating.  Use a lens hood and keep it pressed against the window to avoid getting reflections in your pictures.  You may have better results turning autofocus off but it pays to experiment first with autofocus on, which is the usual mode I employ.
