Boeing announced that it had set a record in 2013 for commercial airplanes delivered.

The Chicago-based airplane manufacturer said it had delivered 648, received 1,355 net commercial orders, and had unfulfilled commercial orders of 5,080, also a record.

The number of orders was the second largest in the company’s history.

Boeing’s 737 program delivered 440 Next-Generation 737 jets, the 777 program delivered 98, and the 787 program delivered 65.

Sixteen customers are now flying the 787 Dreamliner.

In the course of 2013, Boeing delivered its 750th 737, launched the 787-10 Dreamliner, flew the first 787-9 Dreamliner, launched the 777x, and received its 1,000th order for the Dreamliner.
