Starwood announced the opening of the Westin Portland Harborview in Portland, Maine.  The property, previously known as the Eastland Hotel, underwent an 18-month, $50 million renovation to become a Westin hotel.

The property has 289 guestrooms and suites, each with Westin Heavenly Beds.  The hotel also has two new dining venues, including Congress Square Restaurant, a casual dining establishment, and Top of the East, open for evening cocktails and light fare.

The property’s meeting and event spaces were also redone in the renovation.  The hotel’s ballroom had its vaulted ceiling restored, and the lobby’s oversized chandelier was redesigned.

Also as part of the renovation, the hotel received a new spa, Akari, as well as a new gym.
