Gogo and The Weather Channel Provide Free Access to Weather.com
Gogo and The Weather Channel announced a partnership that allows passengers to access Weather.com and Weather Underground free of charge while in-flight.
Passengers on Gogo-equipped planes can navigate directly to weather.com or wunderground.com, without having to pass through Gogo’s portal page, for full access to the site.
According to Gogo, “checking weather information is one of the top things people do when they access the Internet in flight.” The partnership comes during the time of year when weather tends to impact travel plans.
Free access to both websites is available now from laptop browsers. Smartphone app support will be added in the first quarter of 2014.
