Cathay Pacific Places Order for 21 Boeing 777-9X Aircraft
Cathay Pacific announced an order for 21 Boeing 777-9X aircraft, valued at over $7 billion at list prices. Cathay is the first Asian carrier to order the aircraft.
The 777-9X will be equipped with 400 seats, making it the largest twin-engine commercial jet in the world. The aircraft will also have new composite wings, new engines, and will have the lowest operating cost per seat of any commercial plane.
The Boeing 777-9X launched at the Dubai Air Show last month, where it received a record 259 orders and commitments. Worth $95 billion at list prices, the aircraft orders mark the largest product launch in commercial jetliner history by value.
