Alaska Airlines to Begin New Routes From Salt Lake City

Alaska Airlines announced it will begin new daily, nonstop service between Salt Lake City and Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, and Portland, Oregon next June.  In addition, the airline also said it will add a third nonstop flight to its existing Salt Lake City-Seattle route.

Beginning June 9, Alaska will offer twice daily flights between Salt Lake City and Portland.  The morning flights between the two cities will be operated by SkyWest Airlines, using a CRJ-700, while the later flights will operate using a Boeing 737.

On June 10, Alaska will begin twice daily service between San Diego and Salt Lake City.  As with the Salt Lake City-Portland route, one flight will be operated by SkyWest Airlines using a CRJ-700, while the other will use a Boeing 737.

Between Los Angeles and Salt Lake City, the airline will offer one daily flight, beginning June 11.  Flights will be operated using Boeing 737 aircraft.

The carrier’s San Jose-Salt Lake City service will begin on June 12, and will be once daily.  Flights will operate using Boeing 737 aircraft.

On June 9, Alaska will also add a third nonstop flight to its existing service between Salt Lake City and Seattle, which will be operated using a CRJ-700 aircraft.
