Alaska Airlines and Uber, an on-demand car service, are partnering to provide free rides to Seattle–Tacoma International Airport.

Alaska Airlines will pay the Uber fare of any passenger whose flight originates at Seattle-Tacoma on December 23 or 24.  The offer is good for fares up to $50.

Smartphone users can download Uber’s free app and link their credit card account info to their Uber profile.  The rides are then paid for using the app.  Any trip to Seattle-Tacoma exceeding $50 will incur an overage charge on the passenger’s credit card.

Alaska is in fierce competition with Delta in Seattle and the promotion appears to be an effort by Alaska to win over some Delta flyers.
