DSC_0285In an age when frequent travelers have come to expect a vast array of benefits and bonuses from their credit cards’ use, they have become masters of not only hotels and airlines, but also of their wallets.

In a recent poll conducted by Frequent Business Traveler in conjunction with FlyerTalk, the world’s largest online travel community, frequent travelers stated that the most important benefit a credit card can offer is no fees being assessed on foreign transactions.  The survey garnered 1021 responses between August 24 and September 25.

Survey respondents cited automatic elite status with a hotel, airline or car company as the next top card benefit, followed by access to airport lounges.

In fourth place came complimentary upgrades for an airline, hotel, or car rental agency, followed by credit towards elite status.

In sixth, seventh, and eighth place came primary rental car insurance coverage, airline fee reimbursement, and reduced mileage/points (or rebate) for award flights and stays.

Trip cancellation/interruption insurance ranked ninth, and late checkout with other hotel benefits rounded off the top ten list.
