Delta Air Lines said it was expanding its Porsche passenger transfer service to three new locations.

Effective immediately, the new service is being offered to select passengers who have Delta Diamond Medallion status at Los Angeles International Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, and Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport.

The Porsche program starts with a Delta representative meeting the disembarking passenger at the aircraft door.  The representative then escorts the passenger to a waiting Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid on the tarmac and drives the passenger to his connecting gate.

The program started as a pilot at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in 2011.  Delta transfers an average of 75 passengers per day at that location.

Not every Diamond Medallion passenger will receive a transfer.  The criteria for selection include connection timing and flight operation.
