American Airlines announced it plans to list its common stock on the Nasdaq Global Select Market once it has merged with US Airways.  The combined company will assume the name American Airlines Group Inc., and will use the ticker symbol AAL.

Once the merger is complete, the common stock of American Airlines and US Airways will be cancelled, and shareholders will receive equity interests in American Airlines Group Inc., according to the terms of the merger agreement and reorganization plan.

The merger still remains subject to government approval by the United States Bankruptcy Court.  It is expected to be finalized by this December.
