LAN Colombia announced that it has joined the oneworld alliance.

Members of LAN Colombia’s LANPass frequent flyer program are now able to earn and redeem miles and tier status points when they fly on any oneworld alliance airline partner.  In addition, members of other oneworld alliance airlines’ frequent flyer programs can earn and redeem miles, awards, and tier status points on LAN Colombia flights.

LANPass Comodoro and Comodoro Black cardholders are now granted Emerald status in oneworld frequent flyer programs.

In addition, LANPass Premium Silver members are now equivalent to oneworld Sapphire, and LANPass Premium members are equivalent to oneworld Ruby.  Oneworld Sapphire cardholders have access to the alliance’s network of business class lounges and will receive priority boarding, and oneworld Emerald cardholders have access to first class check-in and lounges, as well as additional baggage allowance.

TAM Airlines also announced it will join the alliance on March 31, 2014.  LAN and TAM are both members of Latam Airlines Group SA.
