JetBlue announced an order for new aircraft, as well as changes to existing orders.

The New York-based airline said it is ordering 15 Airbus A321ceo and 20 A321neo aircraft on Tuesday.  It also announced it will convert an existing order for 18 Airbus A320 planes to A321s.

The JetBlue order marks the 10,000th order for an Airbus A320 family aircraft.

In addition, JetBlue said it will defer delivery of 24 Embraer 190 aircraft from 2014-2018 to 2020-2022.

The changes are intended to “match capacity and demand” as well as to reduce costs, the airline said in a statement.

The A321ceo is the “current engine option” model of the plane. The A321neo features new, more fuel-efficient engines with enhanced range.
