Japan Airlines to Offer Gogo In-flight Internet on Domestic Flights
Japan Airlines announced it will offer GoGo in-flight Internet service on its entire domestic fleet beginning next summer. The carrier’s domestic fleet currently consists of 77 aircraft.
The new Gogo service will utilize the company’s Ku-satellite connectivity technology. Japan Airlines is the first airline in Japan to offer domestic in-flight Internet service. Last year, JAL competitor ANA said it would not offer Internet on domestic flights.
Gogo was the first company to offer domestic in-flight Internet service in the United States, having launched its service with American Airlines, also a member of the oneworld alliance and a partner of Japan Airlines, in 2008.
