Etihad Airways to Launch Abu Dhabi-Los Angeles Service

Etihad Airways announced it will begin nonstop, daily service between Abu Dhabi and Los Angeles on June 1, 2014. Los Angeles will be the carrier’s fourth destination in the U.S., along with Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C.

Flights will depart Abu Dhabi at 8:45 a.m. and arrive in Los Angeles at 2:15 p.m. Flights from Los Angeles to Abu Dhabi will depart at 4:15 p.m. and arrive at 7:35 p.m. the next day.

The new service will operate using Boeing 777-200LR aircraft. The plane will be configured with 237 seats in three classes, including eight suites in first class, 40 lie-flat seats in business class, and 189 seats in economy class.

Earlier this year, Etihad Airways announced it would acquire 49% of Jat Airways, the national flag carrier of Serbia, which will be renamed and rebranded as Air Serbia. The airline is scheduled to begin operations this month.
