Emirates Launches Frequent Flyer Partnership with Virgin America
Emirates and Virgin America announced they began a frequent flyer partnership. The new partnership allows members of each airline’s frequent flyer programs to earn and redeem points and miles on the other airline’s flights.
Emirates Skywards members can now earn Skywards miles when traveling on Virgin America flights, and are able to redeem them for rewards flights on all Virgin America routes. In addition, members of Virgin America’s Elevate program can earn Elevate points on Emirates-operated flights, and can redeem the points on any routes operated by the Dubai-based airline.
Earlier this year, Emirates expanded its partnership with JetBlue Airlines to include codesharing on Emirates-operated flights between Dubai and the U.S., as well as on Emirates-operated flights between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Milan, Italy.
Last month, Virgin America announced it would resume seasonal service between New York and Palm Springs, beginning December 21 of this year.
