Delta to Introduce Updated Boeing 757s, Additional Flights for JFK-LAX Route
Delta Air Lines announced it will introduce three updated Boeing 757 aircraft on its route between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport on July 1, 2014. The aircraft will be updated with lie-flat seats in the carrier’s BusinessElite class, as well as the addition of Economy Comfort seats.
The three aircraft will be the first updated 757s to be introduced on the airline’s routes between New York’s JFK and Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle. By the summer of 2015, all flights on these routes are expected to feature the new updates.
With the three additional aircraft, Delta will offer a total of eight daily flights between New York’s JFK and Los Angeles.
The updated 757s will feature 16 lie-flat seats in BusinessElite, arranged in a 2-2 configuration. Each seat will be 20” wide, and will have an average bed length of 76”.
The new aircraft will also feature the addition of 44 Economy Comfort seats, each off which will have a pitch of 35”, in a 3-3 configuration. There will be 108 economy seats. Each seat in the economy cabin will feature an adjustable headrest, a 9” video monitor, and 110-volt and USB power ports.
