Starwood announced the opening of the St. Regis Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.  The hotel is the third St. Regis property to open in the Middle East.

The hotel has 283 guestrooms, including 55 suites.  Each room offers views of the Arabian Gulf, and has 42” LCD TVs, iPod docking stations, ergonomic desk chairs, and separate bath and shower stalls in the bathrooms.

The hotel also has the world’s highest suspended suite, the Abu Dhabi Suite.  Positioned between the two towers of the hotel at 650 feet (198 meters) off the ground, the 11,600 square foot (1,077 square meter) suite includes three bedrooms, a spa, kitchen, dining room, fully-equipped gym, and elevator access.  The suite is also outfitted with 24-carat gold leaf accents, leather wall tiles, jewel-toned velvet upholstered walls, and glass mosaic patterns.

The hotel offers various dining establishments, including Rhodes 44, the first restaurant in Abu Dhabi to be run by Michelin-starred chef Gary Rhodes, and Villa Toscana, which offers regional specialties from various parts of Italy.  Guests can also dine at Crystal Lounge, which offers a bar menu, Cafe44, which features baked goods and desserts, Azura, which has an extensive appetizer menu, The St. Regis Bar, which offers cocktails and snacks, and the Tea Lounge.

The hotel has two outdoor pools and the Remède Spa for women.  In addition, the hotel offers over 52,000 square feet (4,830 square meters) of meeting and event space.
