Trip selection in the  app

Travelers who have puzzled over which airport lounge to visit during a trip now have a new tool available to them.  LoungeBuddy, a start-up, released its eponymously-named lounge guide app on Wednesday.  The new app lets users find nearby airport lounges that suits their needs.

Users input the airline they are flying and the airports involved in their journey, including connecting airports, and LoungeBuddy displays a comprehensive list of airport lounges along their route.

The app allows users to select specific amenities, such as showers, free Wi-Fi, or complimentary snacks, and will recommend a nearby lounge.  Based on user-provided elite status, lounge memberships, and price range, the app can further narrow down the search.

Each person who creates an account automatically becomes a member of the LoungeBuddy community and can add lounge reviews and photos, as well as participate in discussions.  Users can also opt for notifications that alert them of nearby lounges or social interactions within the LoungeBuddy community.

The app is currently available for iPhones only, although an Android version as planned as well.
