Fairmont Hotels and Resorts announced it will open the Fairmont Hangzhou in eastern China in 2017. The hotel will be located at the top of the tallest building in the city, in the heart of an upcoming business center that will house meeting and convention venues, office towers, high-end residences, and commercial and retail spaces.
The property will have 300 guestrooms, in addition to 180 Fairmont Serviced Residences, whose occupants will have access to private concierge services and other amenities. The hotel will have five restaurants, a health club and pool, a Willow Steam Spa, and over 32,000 square feet (2,972 square meters) of meeting and event space.
The city of Hangzhou is home to West Lake, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city also contains various other cultural and historical sites including Solitary Hill, the Tomb of General Yue Fei, the Six Harmonies Pagoda, and the Ling Yin Temple.
Last week, Fairmont Hotels announced that it would be partnering with Abbey Road Studios in London to bring branded music and entertainment to guests. In addition to other events, the Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai will be hosting a music-centered showcase through November 22 of this year.
