Edelweiss Air to Add Service to Edinburgh, Havana, and Las Vegas, Adds Lie-Flat Seats to Business
Edelweiss Air, a member of the Swiss International Air lines family, will add service to several new international destinations and also introduce new business-class and economy plus cabins.
Edelweiss will begin nonstop flights to and from Las Vegas starting on May 5, 2014 with twice weekly service on Mondays and Fridays. Flights will depart Zurich at 10 a.m. local time and arrive in Las Vegas at 12:55 p.m. Return flights will leave Las Vegas at 2:40 p.m. and arrive the next day in Zurich at 10:45 a.m. Edelweiss will operate this route using an Airbus A330-200.
Flights from Zurich to Havana will begin on May 8, 2014 and will operate on Thursdays. Flights will leave Zurich at 12:10 p.m. local time and arrive at 4 p.m. in Havana. Return flights will leave Havana at 6 p.m. local time and arrive at 11:05 a.m. the next day in Zurich.
On May 12, Edelweiss will begin flying between Zurich and Edinburgh. The service, which will operate twice weekly, will leave Zurich at 6:50 a.m. local time and arrive at 8:10 a.m.; return service to Zurich will leave Edinburgh at 8:55 a.m. and arrive at 12:10 p.m.
In June 2014, the airline will introduce a completely new business-class cabin on the Airbus A330-200 aircraft, complete with fully lie-flat seats that convert into two-meter long beds. Edelweiss is also introducing a separate economy-plus cabin on this plane. Economy plus seats will have greater recline, 15 cm additional pitch, and the cabin itself will be quieter.
Edelweiss Air also announced an additional flight per week from Zurich to the following destinations: Antalya, Bodrum, Funchal, Ibiza, Irakleion, Sharm el Sheikh, Split, and Tampa.
