Delta Air Lines announced its intent to purchase 40 Airbus aircraft, for delivery between 2015 and 2017.  The order includes 10 international widebody A330-300s, and 30 large domestic narrowbody A321 jets.

Delta’s A330-300s will be outfitted with 34 lie-flat seats in BusinessElite, 32 seats in Economy Comfort, and 227 seats in economy.  Seats in BusinessElite will be 21” wide, and have a pitch of 80”.

The ten A330-300s will be in addition to the airline’s existing fleet of 32 A330s.  The first of these aircraft is scheduled for delivery in the spring of 2015.

The carrier’s A321s will be equipped with 20 seats in first class, 22 seats in Economy Comfort, and 148 seats in economy.  The aircraft will feature in-flight Wi-Fi, and in-flight entertainment with live satellite TV and on-demand options.

Delta’s first three Airbus A321 aircraft are scheduled to be delivered in the first quarter of 2016.
