Alaska Airlines said it is ordering five additional Boeing 737-900ER jets.  The order is valued at $481 million at list price.

Alaska, which operates an all Boeing 737 fleet, currently has 31 737-900s already on order. All are scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2017.

The airline currently has 128 Boeing 737 aircraft in its fleet, including one freighter.  It expects to have 134 737s in operation by the end of 2014.

The aircraft from today’s order will arrive beginning in 2015.
