XCom Global announced it has started to offer its MiFi hotspot rental service for travelers heading to the U.S.  The hotspot will be available for a flat daily fee of $14.95 (excluding taxes, shipping, and other fees).

Travelers can reserve a MiFi Hotspot for the duration of their stay prior to arrival in the U.S.  They must provide a date and location for the unit to be shipped.

The hotspot will be ready for travelers when they arrive, and connectivity will be available out of the box.  It uses 3G or 4G service and redistributes the signal via Wi-Fi.  Options for WPA2 password protection and VPN pass-thru are also available.

The device is battery powered and small enough to fit in a pocket.  A user may connect up to five devices to the MiFi, and data is unlimited.

XCom Global MiFi Hotspots are available worldwide, in over 175 countries throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Africa and the Middle East.
