American Airlines announced the launch of a new codeshare agreement with TAM Airlines.  Under the agreement, the two carriers will codeshare on flights between the U.S. and Brazil.

American Airlines AAdvantage members will also be able to earn and redeem miles on TAM-operated flights.

Tickets for the codeshare flights are now available, for travel beginning August 22.

The codeshare agreement will complement American Airlines’ new service to Curitiba and Porto Alegre, Brazil, from Miami (pending government approval), as well as its new service from Los Angeles to São Paulo, all of which will be available for booking beginning August 18.  The new service from Miami will launch on November 21, while the service from Los Angeles is scheduled to begin on December 16.
