Omni Hotels announced plans to open the Omni Tempe Hotel in downtown Tempe, Arizona in the second half of 2015.  The hotel will be part of a development that will also house USA Basketball’s national headquarters, Arizona Interscholastic Association events, a 4,500 seat multipurpose events center, 500 luxury apartments, 160,000 square feet (14,864 square meters) of retail, and up to 200,000 square feet (18,580 square meters) of office space.

The hotel and development will be located along downtown Tempe’s historic Mill Avenue, with access to the region’s Metro light rail.  Arizona State University is situated adjacent to the planned location.

The Omni Tempe Hotel will have 330 guestrooms, as well as a three-meal restaurant, bars, indoor and outdoor lounges, a pool, and fitness center.  The property will also have a 30,000 square foot (2,787 square meter) conference center and ballroom.

Construction of the development is expected to begin by the end of this year.  The hotel, conference center, multipurpose events center, and the first phase of residential and retail is scheduled to open during the second half of 2015.
