Hainan Takes First Dreamliner Delivery

A Boeing 787 Aircraft

Boeing and Hainan Airlines announced that the airline taken delivery of its first 787 Dreamliner on Thursday.  The aircraft is the first of ten 787s that it will receive.

Hainan’s Dreamliner is equipped with 36 lie-flat business class seats in a 2-2-2 configuration and 177 economy seats in rows of 3-3-3.  Each seat’s entertainment center consists of a 15-inch touch screen panel as well as a power outlet and USB port.

The airline will use the aircraft to operate new routes to North America, in addition to increasing the number of flights on its Beijing-Seattle, Beijing-Toronto and Beijing-Chicago service.

Hainan currently has 108 Boeing aircraft in its fleet.  The fourth largest airline in the country based on fleet size, it is based in Haikou, People’s Republic of China, and operates over domestic and international 500 routes.
