American Airlines announced that it took delivery of its first Airbus A319 aircraft.  The plane is the first of 260 planned Airbus narrow body deliveries that the airline will receive in the next few years.

American’s Airbus A319s will feature leather seats, Wi-Fi, individual power outlets, and USB ports at each seat.  The aircraft will also offer a wide selection of entertainment options.

In first class, passengers will have a 12.1” touch screen, with a selection of up to 200 movies, up to 180 TV programs, over 350 audio selections, and up to 15 games.  In the main cabin, passengers will have 8.9” touch screen monitors, with various movies, TV programs, audio selections, and games.

American’s A319s are scheduled to begin service from Dallas/Fort Worth this September to select cities.  Initially, the planned routes for the aircraft include service between Dallas/Fort Worth and: Charlotte, North Carolina; Cleveland; Memphis; and Wichita, Kansas.
