Alaska Airlines to Inaugurate Seattle-Steamboat Springs Service

Alaska Airlines announced plans for a new seasonal flight between Seattle and Steamboat Springs/Hayden, Colorado.  The new service, which will operate on a twice-weekly basis, will start on December 18, 2013.

The flights will operate be operated by SkyWest Airlines for Alaska using Canadair CRJ-700 aircraft with 70 seats in economy.  Flights will depart Seattle on Wednesday and Saturday at 1:35 p.m. local time and arrive at 4:50 p.m.  Flights from Steamboat to Seattle also operate on Wednesday and Saturday, and will depart at 5:25 p.m., arriving at 6:50 p.m.

The seasonal service will end on March 29, 2014.

The airline is currently offering special introductory fares for the new flights.

Steamboat Springs is known for excellent winter sports, with 165 ski trails, 3,668 vertical feet, and close to 3,000 skiable acres with six peaks.  It has been the site of multiple World Cup alpine skiing competitions.
